Alright....GO!

I saw the PRETTIEST thing when I was out running some errands today... I have NEVER seen anything like it before either..

It was alll cloudy on this side of town today....like pretty much a gray blanket of clouds...I had to go pick up my kids and found out my friend was sick so went to pick him up some medicine and stuff....well as I was on my way to his house.....I noticed a pretty big spot where the clouds opened up and there was a bunch of sunrays peeking through...I was excited showing the kids and I kid you not....within @ 2 minutes all around us there were more than I could count openings with sunrays. I know it had to have been atleast 20 diff openings....the kids and I were so excited...If I was a painter I would have loved to have captured that memory. It was heavenly  :)

I'd recommend starting the parenting thread in the Relationships forum. As it is we're trying to avoid cluttering the message board with too many forums while it is still young...don't want to create an entire forum just for one thread.

I'll look into adding subforums under Announcements for small groups and such.

It was weird at school today....very quiet. Our teacher wanted us to talk about Virginia tragedy. Noone really wanted to talk about it then just shared all the diff versions of the story they had heard.  :'(

I know Bush went to pay his respects, but I'm soooo glad McCain, Clinton, Obama, Guiliani, etc didn't go.  We don't need to make this horrible tragedy about politics....yet

I haven't even had the news on today so hadn't been in the loop....when J.J. wanted to talk about it....it scared him cause he realized as much as a 7 yr old can what tragedy is....He got sad to think that maybe somebodys mommy or daddy didnt come home yesterday  :'(

Speaking of weird or maybe more awkward moments, I called an applicant yesterday to see if he was interested in one of our open positions and I could tell by the tone in his voice that it was a bad time or something was wrong.  I asked him if he would rather I call back later and he said yes that he had gone to Virginia Tech and he was listening to the president.  Talk about a wet blanket on my day!  Poor guy!  I hope he didn't know anyone that was killed.  My heart goes out to those poor families!

I just cracked my neck and it felt SO good....wish I could go to the chiroprator like I used to. *sigh*

Every other Tuesday, our company hires a masseuse and sets up shop in one of the conference rooms.  All we have to do is sign up and we get a free 20 minute massage.

I had mine yesterday...and the person after me couldn't make it since she was in a meeting, so I got her slot too!  Best 40 minutes I ever got paid for in my life!

Yeah so I had a story to share but didnt know where to put it so I figured cant go wrong with the derail thread right......

Today I was at a friends house and my little bug hunter wanted to go outside and hunt rolipolies.....so Im all like okay. And my friend and I were standing there talking and Hannah had both hands closed so I was like...Okay did you find some and she said yeah mom...I found a bunch. So she opens her hands and she had been holding 13 bugs in her hands....  :o    So I tell her that she can take ONE cause we cant take 13 bugs in the car and she started crying saying she couldnt leave her baby buggies....hahahahaha So my friend gets her a cup.....then I realize they are crawling up the cup....so we put a napkin over the cup and I tell Hannah as soon as she gets home she has to put them in the flower bed! So needless to say I have had little bugs crawling all over me today....  ;D

I miss CJ too.

I went and ate some last night....buffet style  ;)  The kids and I went to Oriental Gourmet...for all 3 of us it was 20 bucks..not too bad I think. It was yummmy tooo!!!
The sushi at Ichibon was pretty good and I think a roll was like $6.

yeah, I've had Oriental Gourmet; it's the best buffet sushi I've had here but I must admit that I am VERY spoiled when it comes to sushi.  After living in Seattle and Anchorage with fresh fish, having it catered at my mother's work, and eating it since I was 10, I like to save up and really splurge :)  especially since it's my favorite food.

we need to do a sushi night or something...I know a ton of people who are fans!

You know ....its so funny.......as a child I was terrified of bugs....except rolie polies.....but if we go to the park or anywhere my baby girl is looking for worms and snails and crickets....not my son LOL LOL...im so scared cause I dont know which ones of those worms sting  :-\

I used to eat like 2 cups (literally) of peanut butter and jelly at night, and I kinda just blew up like a balloon.

Now I don't eat at night, b/c after losing 40 lbs...I can't go back

But some people can eat whatever, whenever. But if I did that...man...

I lost 40 lbs too...I still want to lose like 30... (i gained alot of weight with my son)
but...
I cant eat a whole thing of icre cream at night...just a few bites... :)

Cool! I seriously think losing weight is my greatest accomplishment so far haha (I haven't lived that long, so...)

lol!  YAY for awkward talk with co-workers :)  I get that a lot too.  There's this one guy that for some reason thinks I want to hear every random family story he can think of.  It doesn't even have to be on topic!  I mean, it's nice to share a bit and I care about people but he'll have me standing there for an hour talking about his kid's (he's in his twenties BTW) preference for the heat and some crap about what they did before fax machines *snore*  Why does he think I want to hear that?

Ok, so did everybody hear about the 18 wheeler that blew up on the I-59 / I-10 ramp last night?  I was watching film of the aftermath on the news this morning.. it was crazy!  The driver, unfortunately didn't make it... and that ramp is going to be closed for a while - that was major damage.

i try not to watch the news too much........
all i ever get is stories of death and never anything about the good in society.

amen to that! Why dont they ever show people doing outreach stuff or kids raising money for something or happy stuff....

KSBJ (the radio station) and KRPC (channel 2 News) are partnering to make the community aware of the good news of what's going on in Houston.

It was a long drive 8hours each way and a short stay with the family. But the wedding went well overall.

Yeah its definetly not what it used to be. I actually drive through Laredo and stayed there at night so that we didn't have to drive in the middle of night with all the crazy people roaming the streets. It isn't as bad as it was several months ago. I personally haven't seen anything, but I am very cautious.

No it was me, my 24yr cousin Janie, our two dogs, and my two 5 yr old little cousins Stephanie and Cindy.

Well since we left in the afternoon they both passed out and slept most of the way. But, the girls came back with my mom and aunt in their car and they were wild. That is why my dad says he always drove in the evenings with kids because they would go right to sleep. Good thing to know.

yeah so yesterday at court....they wouldnt even let me make a payment arrangement on those tickets cause i had to wait more than ten days to get everything legal....then i didnt have the 350 for no ins to do a payment arrangement on the other...........
so they reset me to come back and talk to the prosecuter................

anybody have any cop friends or judge friends that might can get this dismissed...........i will NEVER pay all that off....i dont even make $600 a month.....my car wont pass inspection and i am feeling very frustrated cause the car has been labeled a "death trap" as it is  :'(  :'(   :'(   :'(  :'(

My car:

eats tires endlessly.....because the front end is messed up.....midas said it needs rack and pinion and a TIRE ROD (that thing that goes across from one tire to the next that usually NEVER has to be replaced) and something else.....
would be USELESS to do an alignment cause as soon as I drove 10 miles it would be right back out of alignment...
my friend bought me 4 brand new tires in feb and almost time to replace them again......

supposedly there is a gas leak.......this guy that did some work when my car was smoking saw some leaking a little at a time....but said its still DANGEROUS cause if a fire broke out....or is soemthing sparked under there.......

the ac is blowing but not cooling....i think Red said it had to do with the compressor being bad....its hard on the kids when it starts to get hot out cause they get so sweaty.......plus it gets so hot here!

the washer fluid holder thing has a hole....so i have no windshield wiper fluid....this gets interesting when the weather is bad and there is dirt on windshield......

anyways......there are a couple of other things i just cant remember...

but the guy at midas said the first job alone with parts and labor would be 2500.....my car isnt even worth 2500.....

Hence why Red and Dave both say..........you need a new car....LOL

Ok here is what i found out tonight at work from my Cop friend. she said that if they are unwilling to make a payment plan ask them if yo can take a defensive driving class. However now if you got pulled over for your car then it might be a different story. i will check with my mechanic friend and see what he says. You really sound like you need a car. I live in pearland and if you need groceries or something make a list and let me know maybe i can pick them up for you and drop them off. That gas leak can be serious and also no ac, poor kids.

I was pulled over for the tags and inspection.....then i had no ins. He said only moving violations could take defensive driving....

Mona, have you appeared in court already? You need a traffic lawyer. They're not expensive -- they typically charge between $45-$70 per violation and they are very good at substantially lowering your fines and keeping the tickets off your driving record.

yes...court was may 1...but they reset since i didnt have the money to pay and there was no prosecuter there....if hes not there again on 6/26 then i am asking for dismissal....someone told me to do that..LOL.
cant afford a lawyer but one of my friends is a paralegal...trying to see if they know any el lago cops...

Well, it's one thing to hope that the prosecutor isn't there, but ultimately paying a lawyer a small fee is better than ending up having to pay huge fines. Even if you are found guilty, they will plea-bargain for you so that you don't have to pay as much money. It's something you should seriously consider.

Seriously...i would love too...but also seriously...i wasnt kidding about NOT HAVING the money....im not saying i cant even spare it....remember....im only working part time @ my hours for school....so usually i make just enough to scrape by...having to get the tags and inspect (plus the small things i had to buy to get it to pass) like really really set me back....i dont get paid until monday and have my laundry money  ;D

i wasnt saying like....yeah  im cheap and dont have the money......
thats why im freaking about the car.....it needs way more money than i have to keep it going :-[

so yesterday, I couldn't find my debit card after I used it to buy some lunch.  I looked everywhere around my office.

so I called it in as lost and I get here this morning and I found it underneath a stack of napkins!

Where were you when you got it done?  Does Houston ever have a big fair?  I love getting my face painted and eating elephant ears, meat on a stick, funnel cake, etc!!!  It's such a blast!
